The final four

A little over a year ago, we set out on a scrappy journey to chop up the Hog and build a modular synth that didn’t feel intimidating. One that sounded incredible, but also felt like something you’d want to touch, look at, and love.

And we've had so much fun doing it.

Today, we are announcing that we're done. We have finished building the last 5 synths of the Moduleur 1/1 series. One already landed at a musician friend, the remaining final four Moduleurs are looking for a new home.

This has been a massive undertaking. We partnered with amazing designers and makers and put our hands and soldering irons to work, creating unique, design-first analog pieces. But all good things evolve. Once these last units are gone, the Moduleur 1/1 series is officially concluded.

We’ll go through the remaining instruments one by one. For each Moduleur, we’ll randomly shuffle everyone in the draw and contact people in that order. Once one finds a home, we’ll move on to the next.

Submachine

This one was designed by graphic designer and ice cream enthusiast Ákos Polgárdi. A bold interplay of raw metal, strong contrast, and fun.

Hypno

Flame's design with maximum attention of a special coating that transitions between gold and grey depending on the lighting. Zimo wants it so bad he doesn't want to sell.

Fo Yo

Another Shmøergh classic using signature Black Magic™, Khrinoleen™ and splashes of brand colors sliding down the instrument. Design by Zimo.

The Tweak

Dóri Sirály combined one of her own iconic monkey illustrations with Gabrielle d’Estrées et une de ses sœurs. A magical design that keeps revealing new little details every time you look at it.

What's next?

Don't worry, we'll continue scratching our butts and burning our fingers. We are already looking toward new challenges, designing fresh sonic machines, and exploring ways to make the core concepts of the Moduleur more accessible down the road.
